Local planning application requirements

The local list of Planning Application Requirements for North Somerset explains what documents you need to submit with your application. It was adopted in December 2023 and reviewed in December 2025 when it was decided that no change was required.

Where required information is not submitted, applications would normally be considered as being invalid and no further work will be undertaken until the required information is received.

Part one - supporting documents

Part two – plans and drawings

The Government confirms that further information can be requested after an application has been validated. This is because this local list of planning applications only sets out what information is required for an application to be validly made. It does not set out every piece of information that may be required to ensure a proposal complies with adopted planning policy.

Use the planning map to identify the land use constraints at your site, which relate to many of the documents listed above and effects what information you need to include with your application.
