About the grant

This grant will fund services and activities that act as social prescribing destinations that aim to improve mental health and wellbeing, and to reduce social isolation and loneliness.

Referral pathways from link workers/social prescribers will need to be established to be a ‘Social Prescribing Destination’. We can help with this.

We welcome applications from:

  • voluntary organisations
  • community groups
  • mutual aid groups
  • charities
  • social enterprise or an individual working in partnership with a group of local residents
  • or youth clubs that can provide evidence that your project was developed by a group of young people

All projects should be based in North Somerset and aimed at North Somerset residents and be able to go live by 1 July 2023.

Available funding

You can apply for grants of up to £5,000, unless your project has a significant nature-based element, in which case you can apply for up to £10,000, so long as you have discussed your application with the Green Social Prescribing (GSP) Programme by emailing bnssg.mh.greensp@hns.net.

Wesport

This grant scheme is also working in partnership with Wesport, who are contributing funding from the Sport England Together Fund to add to these awards.

Projects with a strong physical activity focus and support people to recover from Covid-19 and the subsequent cost of living crisis will be considered to access funding through this award. These projects will require some additional information, which Wesport will request from applicants if successful at panel.

This funding is available for projects that can start earlier than July because the funding window is shorter. Projects will need to be finished by 30 September 2023 and complete organisational and participant monitoring and evaluation by October 2023.
