The planning application for the Banwell bypass was submitted to the Local Planning Authority (LPA) in July 2022. It was then determined at the Planning & Regulatory Committee in March 2023, where the scheme was granted permission to proceed.
The planning application includes:
- the Banwell bypass itself
- placemaking measures in Banwell village
- measures to mitigate identified impacts of the scheme in the local area
Mitigation measures are part of the planning consent and will be delivered ahead of the bypass opening.
