Cycling training

Adults

If you’re new to cycling, or if you just want to improve your road skills, you can book a private training session with an instructor.

If you live or work in North Somerset, you are eligible for free cycle training sessions. There’s no hidden costs and no catches.

You can book up to two lessons with our experienced trainer, each lasting about an hour. Sessions can be one-to-one, with a partner or part of a group. Sessions can be tailored to any level of experience and will be held at a time and place that suits you. The trainer can help you plan a route and offer an accompanied ride to work. You will also receive useful advice on safety and how to adjust your bike.

How it works

Head to the Travelwest website and fill out the enquiry form.

We’ll send you details of how to arrange your cycle training.

Complete your training session at a time and place that suits you.

We’ll get in touch to ask you about your experience.

Call 01173 521 105 or email travel.roadshow@westofengland.org if you have any questions.

If you live or work outside of North Somerset, visit the Better By Bike website to find out more about adult cycle training in other West of England authorities.

Children

Many primary schools deliver Bikeability training. Some also deliver on-road traditional cycle training to children in years five and six using volunteers. For more information contact your child’s school.
