Polling districts and polling places review 2023

We have a duty under the Representation of the People Act 1983, the Electoral Administration Act 2006 and the Electoral Registration and Administration Act 2013 to:

  • divide the parliamentary constituencies in the North Somerset area into geographical areas, called polling districts
  • assign polling places - a geographical area in which a polling station is located - within each polling district

The constituency boundaries in North Somerset changed following the 2023 Parliamentary Boundary Review. Find out more about the Parliamentary Boundary Review.

We have to carry out a review of the polling districts and polling places every five years. This is to make sure we provide reasonable facilities for voting and that polling places are accessible to all electors, including voters with a disability.

The next compulsory review of polling districts and polling places will begin on Sunday 1 October 2023. We will publish the notice of review on our public and legal notices page. The purpose of the review is to hear feedback about the current arrangements and identify potential alternatives where required.

This review is for the polling districts and places only.

Our polling stations are kept under review throughout the year. If you have any feedback on the venues we use please email electoral.services@n-somerset.gov.uk and title your email 'Polling stations'.
