Temporary relief can be considered if you are a new or expanding business within North Somerset.
We are able to use discretionary powers, to award a local discount or temporary relief against your rates account.
We are able to consider applications from new businesses (within the first year of trading), or pre-applications if a business is considering occupying a premises.
Some of the things we would need to consider are:
- the type of business
- the effect on the area
- the number of employees
- the location of the business
- the financial accounts and projections
- whether the business meets the priorities in our corporate plan
