Confirmation of compliance with planning conditions

We can confirm if planning conditions have been complied with or not. This can help when buying or selling a property.

To request this service, please apply in writing via email and provide the following details:

• planning application number
• number of the condition, as shown on the decision notice

If you want to discharge a planning condition, we recommend reading our guidance on this before submitting. 

Once your request is received, we will contact to arrange payment. The fees for requesting written confirmation of compliance with conditions are:

• £43 for all householder development (extensions to dwellings, outbuildings)
• £145 for all other types of development

The fee is per request and application.

We will aim to send our response to you within 10 working days. However, some older files are stored off site and so we will take longer to respond to these.

From 2021, requests to approve details required by a planning condition are available to view for free on our website. These have a suffix of ‘AOC’ in the reference number and listed along with planning applications.
