This consultation is one of the first stages of engagement with the community in Pill, Ham Green and Easton-in-Gordano on the proposed implementation of a 20mph zone. The scheme aims to provide a safer environment for the community in the parish, specifically for school pupils, elderly persons and people moving around by foot or bike.

Aim of this consultation

North Somerset Council, along with Pill and Easton-in-Gordano Parish Council would like to hear your views for plans to introduce a 20mph area as detailed in the indicative drawings (see below).

Context for this consultation

This consultation is the first community engagement after extensive discussions with the Pill and Easton-in-Gordano Parish Council.

The scheme is intended to create a safer environment for school pupils, the wider community and those moving around the village on foot or by cycle.

The preliminary designs include a combination of:

  • Pedestrian improvements
  • Gateway signage,
  • Edge of carriageway markings to slow speeds

What will happen to the results?

After reviewing all responses to this consultation, we will consider the need for amendments to the proposed 20mph area. Afterwards, we will publish a ‘You Said, We Did’ document outlining the results, as well as key changes made.

Following this preliminary consultation, we will progress to a formal statutory process.
