OTs in North Somerset

Each local authority employs OTs in different ways. Here in North Somerset, our Occupational Therapists and OT Adult Social Care Workers work in a variety of multidisciplinary teams, each with a unique focus.

Teams you could work in include:

  • Single Point of Access
  • Technology and Reablement
  • Locality teams
  • Disabled Children's
  • Research/Workforce Development/Policy

We primarily work under Section 2 of the Care Act 2014, and assess what is necessary and appropriate under the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996. There is a range of legislation that underpins our practice and we draw a lot of our policy from the Department of Social Work.

Occupational Therapists can also apply for social care roles in the mental health team and Hospital Discharge and Assessment team (HDAT).
