Privacy notice – Reducing Parental Conflict

About the survey

North Somerset Council is carrying out this survey of adults working or volunteering in organisations who engage with adults who are parents or carers in North Somerset.

The data gathered from the survey will be used to inform our Reducing Parental Conflict provision in the local authority.

Anonymised summary information will also be shared with our partners at Foundations and Anna Freud as this is part of a joint project between these organisations. This will be an overview of responses collected and the types of organisations where data has come from.

This needs to be shared to inform the development of Reducing Parental Conflict support in North Somerset. Personal data, such as job role and description will not be shared.

How we use and process your data

North Somerset Council is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office for the purposes of processing personal data.

The information you provide will be held and used in accordance with the requirements of the UK and European data protection laws.

Your personal information (job role and description) is only used to administer the survey. This is required for information gathering to enable us to identify who is working with the families in North Somerset and in what capacity.

As soon as the survey administration is complete, your personal information is removed from all survey files. The digital responses to the questionnaires are stored securely for six months, then destroyed securely. Organisational data, (your organisation or place of work information) will be used to inform future training and services, but will not be linked to your personal information. This will identify areas where additional Reducing Parental Conflict support may be needed and where there is already the right amount of support in place.

The North Somerset People and Communities Directorate is required to collect and use this data to inform the Department for Work and Pensions about support for Reducing Parental Conflict, and to ensure we are meeting the needs of parents/carers and children. By providing us with the information on this form, we can meet this requirement and use it to help us develop and improve the support and resources available to families.

Unless otherwise agreed with you, we will only collect the minimum personal data required to conduct the survey.

The processing of this information is lawful under Article 6(1)(e) of the General Data Protection Regulations. The processing is necessary to perform a task in the public interest for our official functions; or the task or function has a clear basis in the law. This will enable us to offer additional reducing parental conflict support that is relevant to the needs of North Somerset.

At no point is your data shared or processed outside of the UK.

We may lawfully disclose information to public sector agencies to prevent or detect fraud or other crime, or to support the national fraud initiatives and protect public funds under the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014. Under the conditions of the Digital Economy Act 2017, we may also share personal data provided to us with other public authorities as defined in the Act, to improve public service delivery, or for statistical research. We do not share the information with other organisations for commercial purposes.
