Town Hall works 2023/24

Due to changes in the way we now work, we no longer need two large office buildings. The pandemic has led to a shift towards home working and our ambition is to use our remaining office space more efficiently providing significant financial and environmental benefits.

The decision to gradually transition out of Castlewood was taken in May 2022 as part of the council’s review of how it uses its office space. The Castlewood site will be redeveloped with the delivery of affordable housing identified as a top priority.

In order to accommodate additional staff in the Town Hall and prepare for the future we now need to make some adjustments and reconfigure the space in Weston.

The changes will:

  • enable new ways of working flexibly
  • reduce costs
  • reduce the council's carbon footprint.
