Telecare

Telecare uses sensors and detectors to alert live-in carers that there is a problem, or calls for help if the person lives alone. It means that help can be called for quickly and the event doesn’t escalate into a crisis.

Devices can stand alone to provide alerts and reminders. They can also be linked to Carelink, or a similar 24 hour monitoring centre, to call for help at anytime.

Sensors and devices can be fitted to assist with:

  • falls
  • wandering
  • inactivity
  • medication compliance
  • flooding
  • cooking
  • sensory impairment
  • memory deficit

We provide telecare to people who meet certain criteria but it can also be bought privately.

Our equipment and demonstration centre in Weston-super-Mare has a wide range of equipment, adaptations and assistive technology for you to try.
