Banwell Bypass and Highway Improvements

Visualisation of Bypass

This consultation is now closed. The original text is retained below, for the record. You can read a report into the consultation findings (pdf, 3.5MB).

We have made considerable progress designing the Banwell Bypass since our first public consultation was held in summer 2021.

Now, we would like to share our progress and the current design with you, giving you another opportunity to tell us what you think about our work so far.

What you tell us will help us to review the design for a final time before it is submitted to planning later in 2022.

In our consultation document (Summary and Detailed versions available) you can see the current design of the Banwell bypass, as well as some proposed changes to Banwell village and its surrounding area including measures to reduce possible impacts of the scheme in the nearby villages Sandford, Churchill and Winscombe. You can see more detailed designs of the proposals for Banwell village, Churchill, Sandford and Winscombe in the drawings below.

Please use this questionnaire [Closed] to share your views on:

  • The current design of the Bypass and Southern Link Road.
  • Proposed improvements to the village of Banwell.
  • Proposals to nearby roads and villages, including measures to address impacts of the Scheme.

Your feedback to date has played a vital role in shaping and focussing the designs presented today. Every response we receive is important, so that we can deliver a scheme that works for our residents now and in future.

We can only take your feedback using the questionnaire and cannot accept feedback by other methods (e.g. letters, emails, phone calls). The questionnaire is fully accessible though if you do need it (or other information) in another format please contact us by email (banwell.bypass@n-somerset.gov.uk) or by phone on 01934 888 802.
