Volunteer sessions at Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve

Volunteer sessions are taking place at Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve next week for anyone interested in wildlife and conservation management.

North Somerset Council has organised two sessions on:

  • Tuesday 23 February from 9.30am-12.30pm
  • Thursday 25 February from 1pm-4pm.

“Anyone wanting to find out more about volunteering opportunities at the nature reserve is invited to go along to one of these sessions,” said Cllr Peter Bryant, the council’s executive member for parks and green spaces.

“We then hope to build on these sessions and start regular volunteer days at the nature reserve. Volunteers have played an important role there before and we want to carry that on.”

Volunteer groups are involved at several other sites managed by the council, including Trendlewood at Nailsea and Watchhouse Hill at Pill.

Anyone going to one of the volunteer sessions should meet at South Pool Hide (entrance from the end of Wharf Lane) and wear suitable clothing and footwear. Gloves, tools and refreshments will be provided.
