It’s not too late to join the Space Chase!

Grab your space suit and take a giant leap into the library this summer!

There’s still time to sign up for Space Chase, this year’s Summer Reading Challenge in North Somerset’s libraries.

More than 3,000 children have already signed up and are enjoying collecting special stickers as they read six library books during the summer holidays.

It’s not too late to start now as the challenge runs until Saturday 7 September. Anyone aged four to 11 can take part. If you’re not already a member of your library, joining is easy and free – just ask your parent or carer to take you along to your nearest library.

Finish the challenge to get a special medal and certificate. All those who finish by 7 September will be entered into a prize draw for a pair of tickets to the Curzon cinema in Clevedon or a family ticket to a Space Odyssey Planetarium show at the Tropicana in Weston-super-Mare. There is a discount for entrance to Space Odyssey Planetarium events at the Tropicana on 13 and 14 November for everyone who takes part in Space Chase.

Libraries are also offering free and fun activities with an inter-galactic theme throughout the holidays to help children complete the challenge. Visit your local library or go to the website to find out more at www.n-somerset.gov.uk/libraries.

On days you can’t get to the library, there’s still the Space Chase website with so much for children to discover at www.spacechase.org.uk.
