Over 98 per cent received one of their three preferences, with over 92 per cent of applicants being allocated a place at their first preference secondary school.

North Somerset Council received 2,691 applications for the 2022/23 academic year by the national closing date in October and will make offers to all who applied on national offer day today (Tuesday 1 March).

Only 36 students out of 2,691 have not been offered any of their preferences. However, those who have applied for their local school have been offered a place.

Cllr Catherine Gibbons. North Somerset Council's executive member with responsibility for schools said: "I am delighted that so many students have received a place at one of their three preferred schools.

"I would also like to thank the admissions teams and our schools who have worked incredibly hard to achieve these positive results."
