Construction of the new school is complete and the focus now is on furnishing the classrooms and other internal spaces ready for opening in September with a Reception class.
The school at North End in Yatton will initially have 210 places overall with infrastructure already in place to increase its capacity to 420 places to meet future demand from local housing development. It will also have the facility for pre-school provision.
The design and build of the new £6m school has been project-managed by North Somerset Council. The council awarded the build contract to Willmott Dixon and the Clevedon Learning Trust was appointed as the multi-academy trust sponsor of the new school.
"The new school looks fantastic and we are delighted the Department for Education has entered into a funding agreement with the Clevedon Learning Trust to open in September," said Cllr Catherine Gibbons, the council's executive member for children's services and lifelong learning
"The site will be available for community use and will soon become an integral part of the North End community in Yatton. Congratulations and best wishes to the Clevedon Learning Trust on the opening of their new school."
