New online groups from North Somerset Children’s Centres

9:48am - 09 September 2020

North Somerset Council’s Children’s Centres are continuing to offer advice and support to local families by moving services and groups online.

From this month, Children’s Centres will start offering their groups online via Zoom. The first groups going live will be:

  • family support drop-in
  • young parents group
  • breast feeding support group.

To be able to take part in the online groups, families will need to complete a membership form which can be found via the North Somerset Children’s Centre Facebook page at

Once they have completed a membership form, families will also be able to join a closed Facebook group to access exclusive content including fun learning activities and stories.

Cllr Catherine Gibbons, North Somerset Council Executive member with responsibility for children’s services, said: “We have really missed seeing the children and families while the Children’s Centre buildings have been closed, and we know families would like to access the Children’s Centre services so until we are able to safely welcome everyone back in person, North Somerset Children’s Centres are moving services online for the Autumn term.

“Our Family Support teams have been in regular contact with families during lockdown and are still available to talk to anyone who needs some additional support.

“We’re working hard to get the online groups ready and information about the groups will be published on our North Somerset Children’s Centre page during September.”
