Award winning walking group needs volunteers

Volunteers are needed to lead health walks across North Somerset.

More than 6000 people have enjoyed North Somerset’s Health Walks programme since it was launched over eleven years ago and more volunteers are now needed to support the growth of this ever-expanding project.

The programme has recently won an Inspiration award at the Ramblers Volunteer Awards 2019. It was recognised that the initiative continues to thrive because of the enthusiasm of the dedicated volunteers.

If you enjoy the outdoors, like helping others and want to be more active in your spare time, this could be the perfect role.

Anyone interested is asked to contact North Somerset Council to find out more about the next free training day in Clevedon on Friday 14 June.

Volunteers don’t need to have an extensive knowledge of the local area or a high level of fitness. They simply need to be able to guide and support small groups and encourage people to be more physically active.
