Local aggregates assessment for the West of England

The National Planning Policy Framework requires minerals planning authorities to plan for a steady and adequate supply of aggregates by preparing a local aggregates assessment (LAA) each year, based on a rolling average of 10 year sales data and other relevant information.

The LAA for the West of England has been jointly prepared by Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

Coronavirus update – due to the need to prevent the spread of the virus we are not always able to publicise planning applications in the normal way. However, residents can keep informed about new applications by searching the weekly list or by signing up to receive automated email alerts about new applications in their area.

This shows how we will involve the community in preparing new planning policies and making decisions on planning applications.

The SCI has been recently revised to take account of legislative changes and changes in working practices. The revised version for 2019 was adopted at Council on 24 September 2019
