Planning application reference numbers

Each planning application is given a unique reference number.

  1. The first two digits show the year an application was sent
  2. This is followed by a ‘P’ to show it is about planning
  3. There are then four numbers which are unique to the application and are produced sequentially (the higher the number the more recent an application)
  4. At the end there is a suffix which shows which indicates the type of planning application

Once you have submitted your planning application via the Planning Portal website, you will be sent an email with your unique reference number.
