Housing and economic land availability assessment
About housing and economic land availability assessment
The Councils HELAA was produced in 2014. Since then the government has amended the way that councils review their supply of potential housing and employment sites separating them into two different processes. The residential site assessment can now be found in the Council’s SHLAA. The Employment Land Review 2018 has also been produced.
The 2014 assessment informed our core strategy and other documents.
- identified sites potentially suitable for housing and economic development
- assessed the potential of each individual site
- assessed when each site could be developed
The assessment does not allocate sites but gives an initial overview of their potential. It does not imply that planning permission will be granted for any development proposal submitted.
