Residential parking permits

If you live in the area where on-street parking charges apply, you can buy a parking permit. You can also buy one if you are working on a site or are a medical professional visiting someone in that area.

Some of the streets listed may not have parking bays in them, but are in the on-street charging and enforcement areas. Charges and restrictions apply 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday, including bank holidays.

Types of permits

Resident – A

On-street exemption from charges 8am-10am and 5pm-6pm.

£31 for 12 months.

Resident – B

On-street exemption from charges 8am-10am and 5pm-6pm plus off-street long stay car park permit for use in Locking Road, Hampton, or Madeira car parks.

1 month is £20, 3 months is £55, 6 months is £105, and a 12-month permit is £190.

Resident – C

On-street exemption from charges 8am-10am and 5pm-6pm plus off-street long stay car park permit for Locking Road car park only.

1 month is £15, 3 months is £30, 6 months is £50, and a 12-month permit is £90.

Applying for a permit

Only residential households in areas where charges apply are eligible for permits and must show proof of residency. We accept:

  • housing association or trust rent book
  • proof of house or flat contents insurance
  • current benefits or pension award notification letter
  • utility bill dated within the last three months
  • current council tax bill
  • firearms certificate
  • tenancy agreement (not hand written)

You must also show the vehicle details (V5 vehicle keeper document) and your driving licence.
