Young people's library for 11-17s

Anyone can join the library at any age and borrow up to 20 items including books, CDs, DVDs and talking books. We may ask for identification for the loan of DVDs with an age restriction.

Anyone under 17 can borrow talking books, ebooks and eaudiobooks. You can also request up to six items for free.

Items are usually loaned for three weeks and can be renewed, unless someone else has requested them.

Our Reading Well for Teens collection includes titles and digital resources to help young people understand their feelings, handle difficult experiences and boost confidence.

Parents and carers should be aware that some books from the teenage and adult sections of the library may contain adult issues.

Computer use

Anyone can use the computers, but we ask for parental permission before under 16s can use the internet. We have filtering software to block certain types of websites, and some social media websites are blocked for under 12.

Please note, parents or guardians are responsible for deciding what resources are appropriate for their children.
