DVDs and music CDs

DVDs

From 1 January 2022, North Somerset will not be buying any new release DVDs. We continue to hold our current stock of DVDs, including children’s titles. You will still be able to reserve newer DVDs from www.librarieswest.org.uk while other member authorities continue to buy new releases.

A hire charge for a week’s loan will apply, as well as a daily overdue fee for late returns. Please check that the DVD case is unlocked before you leave.

DVDs are not held for browsing by our Mobile Library, Pill Library, or Congresbury Community Library but specific DVDs can be reserved for collection at these libraries.

We will ask you to prove your age if we think you are younger than the age rating of the DVD you want to borrow. Age restricted DVDs cannot be loaned through the self-service machines.

Music CDs

North Somerset has not bought any new music CDs since August 2017 as overall demand has reduced. Our current stock of music CDs will continue to be available at Weston Library until the level of demand means that it is no longer cost effective to provide this service. Advance notice will be given of the complete withdrawal of this service.

Music CDs can be reserved free of charge, if available, on the LibrariesWest website for collection at your local library.

A hire charge for a three week loan will apply, and an overdue fee will apply if returned late. Please check that the case is unlocked before you leave.
