Walking is a great way to get active, as it’s free and you can start with a low fitness level and build up gradually.
Walking groups meet regularly and there are a number of organised health walks led by trained volunteers, lasting between 30-90 minutes.
They are the ideal first step for anyone wanting to become active or for people with health conditions. There are six groups running covering Clevedon, Nailsea, Portishead, Weston-super-Mare, Winscombe and Yatton – read about what they do and where they meet in the newsletter.
We advise you to wear suitable clothing and footwear for all weather conditions as some walks will be muddy and slippery. Dogs are not allowed on the health walks.
Become a health walk leader
If you are a keen walker, you can help others get fitter by becoming a health walk leader. New leaders mean that more walks can be started in new locations and we can make sure all abilities are catered for.
