Online library services at home
Access services from home just by entering your library card number.
Visit us to access some online services at the library which you may not be able to at home.
For access to Ancestry website while libraries are closed, login to www.librarieswest.org.uk and click on Access to Ancestry Library Edition in the middle of the page.
- search the catalogue and reserve books and other items
- renew items you have borrowed
You will need to enter your library card number and personal identification number. If any charges are added to your account as a result of reserving or renewing items, they will be payable on your next visit to a library.
The encyclopaedia, including Britannica Junior for 5-11 year olds, and Britannica Student, for information on thousands of subjects.

Search and read complete copies of The Times from 1785 to 2011 in their digital archive, and see more recent content of UK newspapers including The Times, Sunday Times, Daily Mail, Daily Mirror, Daily Telegraph, The Financial Times, The Guardian, Observer, The Sun, Bristol Post, Western Daily Press, Cheddar Valley Gazette and the Weston and Somerset Mercury. You will need to add NSC before your library card number.
