About the Safeguarding Children Partnership

The Safeguarding Children Partnership is responsible for the strategic leadership, monitoring, and development of children's safeguarding services in our area. 

The working group of the Partnership is held four times a year and is attended by senior statutory leads, sub-group chairs, and other relevant organisations.

The current structure of the Partnership can be found below, as well as the terms of reference for the Board. 

Changes to governance

In late 2019, the Board was changed to a Partnership in response to the 2016 Wood Review, which indicated the current structure was inadequate. Details of the new governance arrangements can be found below. 

Ofsted report

In 2017, Ofsted undertook a review of the children's safeguarding services in North Somerset. Details of this inspection, and our action plan in response, can be found below.
