Recycle week 2023 - join the big recycling hunt!

Recycle Week is now the UK's largest national annual recycling campaign.

This year is the 20th anniversary and, taking place over 16-22 October, the theme is 'The Big Recycling Hunt'.

We are excited to support the campaign and to celebrate 20 years of recycling education.

The Big Recycling Hunt

To mark the occasion, we've organised our own recycling hunt activity along the Strawberry Line in Yatton.

Opening on Monday 16 October, it will run every day for 14 days until Sunday 29 October. This will allow extra time for families to visit over half-term.

Join in and find our recycling treasure!

How to enter

Note down the items you find and unscramble the secret phrase to enter our prize draw, with vouchers donated by:

  • Noah's Ark Zoo
  • Court Farm Country Park
  • Simply Green, Nailsea

You can enter online via the QR code (located at the start of the trail), or collect a paper entry from the Strawberry Line Café in Yatton.

Are you recycling everything?

The theme of the campaign focuses on 'missed capture' - in other words, items that can be recycled but are commonly missed.

The most common missed capture items include:

  • plastic pots, tubs and trays
  • plastic detergent/cleaning bottles
  • shampoo/conditioner bottles
  • empty aerosols
  • food cans/tins

Local support

Weston-super-Mare businesses the Grand Pier and Revo Kitchen & Terrace will turn green for a week from Monday 16 October to help raise awareness of Recycle Week 2023.
