Make a freedom of information request

You can ask for any recorded information that is held by us, including printed documents, computer files, letters, emails, photographs and sound and video recordings.

You should:

  • ask us in writing
  • include your real name
  • include an address for correspondence
  • give a full description of the information you are asking for

We will respond to each request within 20 working days.

We will not deal with requests that require us to open an attachment, or click on a link to access the request or upload the response. This does not affect your rights and is done to ensure the security of our network.

We receive a lot of duplicate freedom of information requests. Before you make a request, look at our recently closed cases to see if the response to your request is already available. If so, just email us with the reference number of the previous response and we’ll send the information to you.

We have received a large number of requests regarding fire safety in tall buildings, the answers for which can be found in the document below.
