Taxi driver licence

You need to apply to us for this licence if you want to drive a hackney carriage or private hire vehicle.

Contact the licensing team first to arrange a

• suitability test (covering numeracy, literacy, map reading and local knowledge)
• knowledge test (covering taxi licensing legislation and local knowledge)

Allow six weeks for a licence to be granted.

Licences last for three years and are specific to the person named on the licence.
