I would like a bigger wheeled bin
Larger bins are only available for families or households with 6 or more persons permanently living at the address.
Please check the top of your bin, there should be a marking of 180 or 240. If your bin is marked with 240 you have been issued a bigger.
I am expecting a bigger bin and it has not been delivered.
Please check the top of your bin, there should be a marking of 180 or 240. If your bin is marked with 240 you have been issued a bigger.
The 240 bins are being delivered separately and should all be delivered by the 6th of September. If you have still not received your bin by this date please contact streets and open spaces.
I do not want my new containers?
We ask residents to try the system first before refusing the service.
We are permitted under legislation to determine the type of container, what materials need to be placed in it and where it should be placed for collection.
Section 46 of The Environmental Protection Act 1990 states that “the authority may, by notice served on him, require the occupier to place the waste for collection in receptacles of a kind and number specified.
Therefore if you refuse your waste containers you will not have a collection and will need to dispose of your waste at your recycling centre or have a paid collection from a commercial organisation.
