Over 50s

We provide a large number of services for older people living in North Somerset.

Our helpline Care Connect provides advice and information on all social care services including community meals, home care, Carelink and day care.

If you are living on a low income you may be able to claim help with your council tax bill or housing benefit. We provide an assisted bin collection and recycling service for older people. Free bus travel is also available for the over 60s.

Our leisure centres run a number of activities specifically aimed at the over 50s. We provide learning opportunities through our adult education service and free internet access is available at our libraries.

If you have retired to North Somerset, our tourist information service can provide lots of information about activities in the area. There is also plenty to do at council-run attractions like the Playhouse Theatre, North Somerset Museum and Winter Gardens.
