Construction of a new disabled access lift at the Playhouse Theatre in Weston-super-Mare is now under way. 

Residents in North Somerset are being urged to register to vote and check their Voter ID so they can have their say on who represents them in the Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner election.

A new planting scheme has been created for the floral clock in Weston-super-Mare’s town centre, and plants are expected arrive at the end of April. 

With high tides and strong winds forecast for the next few days, North Somerset residents are being urged to be aware of the anticipated conditions.

The Town Centre Occupancy Project, funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), aims to provide support for businesses to achieve both sustainability and growth.  

Business Support Unlocked (BSU) launched in April 2023 and continues to provide completely free access to information and guidance on starting and managing a business. This includes support with early growth, key priorities and even future proofing through development of sustainable business practices.  

More on-street electric vehicle (EV) charging points are set be installed across North Somerset thanks to hundreds of thousands of pounds of new funding.

New electric buses will be on North Somerset roads from early next year, after North Somerset Council successfully bid for £15million of new funding for greener buses across the region.

Businesses are being invited to tender to run concessions at Clarence Park, Royal Sands, Clifton Sands and Carlton Kiosk. The concessions are positioned in key locations, either in popular parks or close to Weston-super-Mare’s vibrant seafront.
