Need to get a little more active?
A new weekly health walk has just begun in Weston-super-Mare.
The walk from the For All Healthy Living Centre in Lonsdale Avenue takes place on Mondays at 1.30pm. It is led by trained health walk volunteers and lasts for up to an hour.
The walk is open to anyone who feels that exercise would benefit their physical and mental health, for those who have not been active for some time and for those with chronic health conditions. All new walkers are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes before the start of the walk to register.
The popular North Somerset Walking for Health initiative celebrated its tenth anniversary earlier this year. Run by North Somerset Council, it has provided short, sociable walks to over 5,000 people in that time and has trained more than 250 local volunteers to lead the walks.
