Major resurfacing scheme in Pill

9:20am - 13 January 2021

A £190,000 scheme to improve the roads in Pill will start on Monday (18 January 2021).

The resurfacing scheme, which will take up to five weeks to complete, will also include footway patching and kerbing repairs.

The roads that will be resurfaced are Lodway (from the Pill Memorial Club to Heywood Road), Heywood Road (from Lodway to Ham Green) and Ham Green (from Heywood Road to 50 Ham Green, just south of Macrae Road).

The work will be completed using staged road closures but temporary traffic signals will be used where possible.

Cllr James Tonkin, North Somerset Council's executive member with responsibility for roads said this was a major scheme that would dramatically improve the roads for all users.

"We appreciate that this scheme will be disruptive and we would urge everyone to be patient while it is completed. But we are confident that the result will be worth any inconvenience caused."

The majority of the work will be completed between 8.30am and 5pm with an overnight road closure in place on Friday 12 February 2021 between 8pm and 5am.

A diversion route will be clearly signed and there will be some disruption to public transport.
