The £232,000 scheme will see extensive drainage and surfacing works carried out over a seven-week period.
In order to complete the works safely, the road will be closed at the following times:
From Monday 23 November to Friday 18 December, for 24 hours a day.
From Monday 4 January to Friday 15 January, for 24 hours a day.
From Monday 18 January to Friday 22 January between 8pm and 6am.
Stock lane, Langford will be closed from its junction with Bypass (A38) to its junction with Langford Road, including the roundabout. Stockmead, Langford will be closed from its junction with Stock Lane to approximately 30 metres north west.
The works will include:
• Resurfacing areas of the existing road surface
• Renewing the existing highway drainage system
• Road marking and signing improvements
• Clearing overgrown vegetation
• Replacing and repairing damaged ironworks.
Cllr James Tonkin, executive member with responsibility for highways said: "This is a large scheme that will cause some disruption while it is completed.
"We would urge residents to be patient while we carry out these essential works in order to prolong the life of this busy route."
