Allocated school places for September 2018
Secondary school allocations
Secondary school places for September 2018 are announced across the country on Thursday 1 March 2018, known as national offer day. Year 10 intake allocations are also announced at the same time.
If you have applied online, you will be able to view your allocated school place on the Citizens Portal from midnight on the national offer day. We will also email you on the same day, unless you have stated otherwise.find out what school you have been allocated
If you applied by post, we will post you a letter on the national offer day. This will be sent second class so may take a few days to get to you.
Accepting your school place
If you applied online you can accept it through the Citizens Portal. If you applied by post you can accept it by filling in the response form, which will be included with your outcome letter, and sending it back to us.
Appealing your school place
If you do not get the school place you want, the place that has been offered will be reserved and you can request that your child’s name is put on a waiting list for your preferred school or you can appeal.
You can also withdraw your application and make a new one with new school preferences. The offered school place would then be withdrawn. You will find more information in the above statement of options.
If you have applied online, you can request to go on the waiting list and/or appeal through the Citizens Portal. If you applied by post, you will need to fill in Section B of the response form, which will be included in your outcome letter, and send it back to us.
If you want to appeal, you should read the appeal procedure which you can find on our appeals page.
