Climate change is a global issue likely to have a significant impact on the quality of life in our district.
We help residents, businesses and stakeholders take action on climate change and have signed the Local Government Association’s climate local commitment. Further information can be found on our climate emergency page.
We have worked with the other local authorities in the West of England to assess the viability of zero carbon development at strategic development locations and in all new building types.
Along with our West of England colleagues we have also commissioned evidence to support responses to the Future Homes Standard consultation.
We have worked with North Somerset Partnership organisations to identify the potential risks and opportunities presented by a changing climate in North Somerset.
