£35 per person, payable when notice is given.
Registrar and register office fees
Please note that from 1 November 2017, consideration of foreign divorce documents will be subject to a fee of £50. In some circumstances this may increase to £75 if the document needs to be referred to the General Register Office.
The fee is payable at the time of the notice of marriage appointment, is non-refundable, and does not guarantee approval of the documents.
Attendance fees
Attendance of a registrar to register a marriage in a registered building (a non-conformist church) is £97.
Attendance of a registrar for marriages or civil partnership ceremonies at approved premises:
1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024
- Monday to Thursday – £484.00
- Friday to Saturday – £517.00
- Sundays – £572.00
- bank holidays – £682.00
From 1 April 2024
Classic ceremonies
- Monday to Saturday – £570
- Sundays – £630
- bank holidays – £750
Enhanced ceremonies
- Monday to Saturday – £645
- Sundays – £705
- bank holidays – £825
Ceremony fees for marriage or civil partnerships
All ceremony fees include the cost of one certificate. Payment is due four weeks in advance of your ceremony.
1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024
- register office - £57 (payable at least five days in advance)
- Hutton Suite (maximum 40 people) - £165, Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings
- Old Council Chamber (maximum 60 people) - £200, Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings. (We apologise that the Old Council Chamber is unavailable for the foreseeable future due to ongoing emergency repairs.)
From 1 April 2024
Classic ceremonies
- Hutton Suite (max party size 40) - £250
