Go4Life is a North Somerset scheme encouraging and
supporting individuals to get physically active in their everyday
lives.
Physical activity includes all types of exercise such as:
- recreational walking
- cycling
- organised and informal sport
anything that increases your heart rate above resting level and
makes you feel warmer and slightly out of breath.
The scheme will support and work with local communities to
develop physical activity opportunities for people who take part in
less than 90 minutes of physical activity per week.
You can join the free Go4Life scheme by completing the
membership application form and get access
to support and help to get you active.
For inspiration to get more active, take a look at the
Active Directory offering a wide range of
activities taking place across the district.
To take a positive step, why not take up the Go4Life
step counter challenge, walking the
equivalent distance from Weston Pier to Brighton Pier without
leaving North Somerset.
The Go4Life scheme was launched in 2007 by the
North Somerset
Partnership (NSP) with the aim of providing activities to suit
people of all ages and fitness levels
The Go4Life strategy describes NSP's visions and
priorities and how local partners might work together to deliver
local health and well-being improvements by the
London Olympics
2012.
If you have something to offer in support of the strategy you
can download a
Go4Life pledge form and email it to
Go4Life.
