Admissions

We manage allocations for first admissions, in year changes and the transfer of pupils between schools.

This covers entrance to all community and voluntary controlled schools and we also assist with admissions to Foundation and Trust Schools and to many of the voluntary aided schools.

We aim to allocate places accurately and efficiently whilst satisfying, where possible, parents' school preferences.

If you wish to apply for a 2009-10 school place, please read one of the following guides which provide helpful advice on the processes involved:

The closing date for the first round of allocations and for online applications was 24 October 2008.

However you can still apply for places for consideration in later rounds of allocations by downloading or requesting a paper copy of the relevant parents guide which contains the application form.

Parents of children due to start school from September 2010 will be able to apply from the First of September 2009. Full details will be published on this page at that time.

For more information and help about the secondary transfer process please visit our  Transition advice page.

To apply for an In-Year place during the 2009/10 school year, please visit our Changing Schools page for more information.

The overall admission process is co-ordinated in consultation with schools, governors, the North Somerset Admissions Forum and other interested parties.

For full details of admission arrangements for all schools, appeal procedures and any other admissions information can be located within the left hand side navigation of the screen under admissions.
