Budget Monitor 2005/06 (Agenda Item 12(7))

The Chairman ruled that a report on this matter be considered as an urgent item because it would not be in the public interest to present the information, that related to the beginning of the financial year, half way through the year.

The Interim Director of Finance and Resources presented a report.

Councillor Roe referred to the intention of Liberata to relocate its operations. He was concerned that the Company had not advised the Council at an earlier stage. Consultations would now take place on job security and to ensure that there would be no diminution of service to the Council or to local Council Tax payers.

Resolved:

(1) that the actual financial position of the Council for the first four months of 2005/06 and the projected out-turn position at the end of the financial year, be noted;

(2) that the report be referred to the Finance and Resources Policy and Scrutiny Panel; and

(3) that the amendments to the Capital Programme, detailed on page 45 of the monitoring document contained in the report, be approved.
