Essential information about this unit

 PROGRAMME OF STUDY LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

Pupils should be given the opportunity to:

a) share their feelings and experiences associated with belonging to a group or community;

b) identify the types and characteristics of groups or communities people belong to;

c) learn about some practices and events associated with some specific groups or communities and roles that people might have within them.

 

WHERE THIS SAMPLE UNIT FITS IN

This unit is designed for Year 2 (Autumn Term). It connects with units 1 and 7 in dealing with aspects of human identity and experience, and with units 2 and 9 in dealing with aspects of religious practices and lifestyles.

B3 In simple terms, describe the function or purpose of some practices carried out at Shabbat.

Identify feelings and experiences associated with belonging to a family, including a Jewish family at Shabbat.
