Essential information about this unit

 PROGRAMME OF STUDY LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

Pupils should be given the opportunity to:

a) develop an awareness of aspects of their own identity, personality and experience, eg feelings, emotions, favourite things;
b) participate in times of stillness and reflection;
c) explore feelings, experiences and situations which may give rise to reflection or prayer;
d) listen and respond to stories, prayers and songs, which help people understand more about themselves and ideas of God.

 

WHERE THIS SAMPLE UNIT FITS IN

This unit is designed for Year R – Autumn Term. It connects with units 4 and 7 in dealing with aspects of human identity and experience and with units 6 and 8 in dealing with beliefs about the spiritual dimensions of life.

TIME: This unit is planned for 14 sessions of 50 minutes each.
