Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal
Highness The Duke of Edinburgh toured North Somerset on a Royal
visit in July 2007.
Well-wishers turned out in their thousands to greet the Royal
Party in what was a memorable day for everyone.
The Royal couple arrived at
Yatton Railway Station
at 10am on Friday 20 July ready for their whistle-stop tour around
the district.
The Queen and Duke's first port of call was
Yeo Valley Farms in
Blagdon followed by the
For All Healthy Living
Centre and then Knightstone Island
in Weston-super-Mare.
Lunch was spent at the town's
The Winter
Gardens after which the Royal pair parted company with The
Queen visiting the
Ashcombe Children's
Centre.
The Duke travelled on to
The Helicopter
Museum where he was later met by The Queen before the Royal
Party left after a hectic day by helicopter at around 3.30pm.
