We are assessed on our performance and the
services we provide for local people.
The Comprehensive Performance Assessment carried out by the
Audit Commission
helps us to focus on improvement.
Inspectors look at our core services including:
- Children and young people
- Social care for adults
- Benefits
- Environment
- Culture
- Housing
Inspectors also look into how we manage our finances and
resources and ask if we provide good value for money.
As part the inspection process, we also undergo a corporate
assessment which usually occurs every three years.
This measures our achievements against our ambitions and asks:
- What are we and our partners, trying to achieve?
- What is our capacity to deliver this?
- What has already been achieved?
The three separate scores for our services, use of resources and
corporate assessment are combined to give the overall CPA
score.
We use the feedback from inspectors to help us improve. Specific
actions may be included in our
Corporate Plan which identifies our priorities for the next
three years.
