The majority of council decisions are made by the
Executive, a modern cabinet-style structure.
This Executive is made up of eight councillors headed by the
Leader of the Council alongside seven cabinet members responsible
for individual portfolios.
This body is responsible for making decisions on all matters
except those concerning planning and licensing issues.
Following the recent district elections and a Full Council
meeting on 15 May 2007 the following new Executive was appointed by
Leader of the Council Councillor Nigel Ashton:
Cllr Nigel Ashton - Leader of the Council.
Cllr Elfan Ap Rees - Deputy Leader and Executive Member
for Strategic Planning, Highways and Economic
Development.
Cllr Jeremy Blatchford - Executive Member
for Children and Young People's Services.
Cllr Ian Peddlesden - Executive Member for Community
Services, Adults and Housing.
Cllr Carl Francis-Pester - Executive Member for
Environment.
Cllr Tony Lake - Executive Member for
Finance, Property and Human Resources.
Cllr Felicity Baker - Executive Member for Special
Projects.
Cllr Peter Bryant - Executive member for Special
Projects.
