Local Transport Plan

The Joint Local Transport Plan (JLTP) sets out how we plan to deliver an improved transport service to the community.

The JLTP includes all forms of transport from rail, road and bus routes to cycle tracks and footpaths.

The Joint Local Transport Plan (JLTP) was published in July 2005 and covers the period from 2006 until 2011. It sets out the transport strategy not only for North Somerset Council but also for the following districts:

As well as being a policy document, the JLTP is also the means by which the four councils bid for Government funding to make transport improvements.

The JLTP also ties in with the Greater Bristol Strategic Transport Study (GBSTS) which is a review of current and future transport needs in the Greater Bristol Area, produced by the Government Office for the South West (GOSW).

The Joint Delivery Report shows overall performance against the JLTP for the four districts. North Somersets' performance is measured against the Summary Progress Report.
