The North Somerset Local Plan is the most
significant planning document for our area.
It applies and implements all national and regional planning
policies interpreting them into specific planning guidelines for
the district and was adopted in June 2000.
Alongside the
Regional
Planning Guidance 10 (RPG10)
Joint Replacement Structure Plan,
Waste Local Plan and
Minerals Working in Avon Local Plan documents it comprises the
Development
Plan for the district.
All planning decisions are made in accordance with the
Development
Plan unless material considerations indicate otherwise.
The North Somerset Local Plan is in the process of being rewritten
as the Replacement
Local Plan which will replace it by mid-2007.
The North Somerset Local Plan can be viewed online via the
Planning Portal website - To find the document type North
Somerset into the site's search box and click Go.
You should also note that the electronic representation of the
Proposals Map on the
Planning Portal portrays certain policies differently to the
published North Somerset Local Plan due to mapping
constraints.
The published version of the North Somerset Local Plan is
available to view at your local
library and at
Somerset
House in Weston-super-Mare and remains the definitive version
of the plan. |
